Due to one two of our great sponsors O'reily and Peachpit. We are able to receive some of the latest books on Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Photography. We will be reviewing these books and keeping you informed on the ones not to pass up. Of course don't forget to use our discounts to order your books from our sponsors. If you don't have your discount code, go to the main Adobe user group page for the Twitter feed or subscribe to our Twitter feed of HouTexLR.
Thanks to Adobe giving us our Adobe Connect account we are able to do some online training for our members. THANKS ADOBE!!! We recently did a webinar on the adjustment brush for Lightroom and Camera Raw. Here is the link to check it out. http://experts.na3.acrobat.com/p75966341/
We have many members and trying to cover a wide range of topics to meet the interests and needs of all members is not always an easy task. However, we have a great tool with our meetup site. For those unfamiler, the Adobe site is where we will be posting blog entrys, book reviews and meetings. The meetup site (http://www.meetup.com/The-Houston-Lightroom-Meetup-Group/) will have details of meetings past and future and a separate area for ideas. This is a place to post Ideas that you would like to see and review other ideas people have posted and vote and what you would like to see next. http://www.meetup.com/The-Houston-Lightroom-Meetup-Group/ideas/
We are coming back from a month off after taking time off for the summer months there is much to do and we are about to start getting back to being very active at providing some great resources for Photography, Lightroom and Photoshop. We have gained some new sponsors and keep getting some great input from members on new ideas. Our first meet up we exchanged some presets and this month should have our server up to post those presets for download by members. Our first webinar on the adjustment brush was a success and has been recorded and will be posted for members to get to review that were not able to attend the night of the webinar.
Adobe is awesome to work with in providing the tools we need for this group. We have just gotten an Adobe Pro Connect account for use in our training. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/ (Thanks Adobe!) Many of our members are already familar with us using this technology at Houston Photoshop Group. We still like to meet in person and connect with one another sharing ideas. However, lets face it, sometimes it is hard to make the time to go somewhere. We now have the ability to meet on the net at where you can find a internet connection. To our training we will be adding some online training a couple of times a month. Any suggestions you have on things you would like to see. Please let us know.
